How To Lose a Pound a Day: This is How I Did it

Recently, I was faced with a very big problem. I had a planned trip to Chicago(10 days away) to finally try the deep dish pizza. The problem was, I was 10 pounds overweight. The dilemma was…Go all out in Chicago and gain 10 more pounds and be 20 pounds overweight or lose 10 and gain 10 in Chicago and come back the same. I knew I wasn’t going to let myself go and resign to my reality, so I decided to lose 10 pounds in 10 days. But I didn’t know how to lose a pound a day. So, I decided to do some research and find other people that had done it. Long story short I did it! and I will show you how below!

You have 2 options…

Water fast 

  • Pros: quick fat loss
  • Cons: hard, extreme discipline required.

Eat 600 calories a day

  • Pros: easy, you feel great
  • Cons: slower fat loss

Both of these approaches are very efficient if you need to lose weight fast. Water fasting is the king of fat loss since you can lose up to 2 pounds a day if you prolong it. Eating 600 calories a day is more manageable than water fasting but you are looking at 1 pound a day.

My results:

I tried water fasting for 7 days and managed to lose 10 pounds.

The most common way to water fast is to drink plain water every day. Although this is the most popular way, I’ve found a better way… it’s called The Snake Diet.

The Snake Diet…

The Snake Diet was created by Cole Robinson. It’s the same as plain water fasting but instead of drinking plain water you add electrolytes to it. By adding electrolytes to your water you avoid the headaches and dizziness you might feel with regular water fasting. This way you can literally feel great all day long and have energy, while you fast! 

You just add some Himalayan pink salt and potassium into your water and ONLY drink that for a week. Whenever you feel hungry or low in energy you drink the Snake Juice (water + electroplytes) and go on with your day.

I’ve found this water fasting method very effective to lose fat very quickly and keep it off as well. The trick here is to not cheat and get over the first 2 days, which are the hardest. In the first 2 days, your body is basically confused and doesn’t know where to get energy from. After the first 2 days, you get this rush of energy since your body now is using fat storage reserves as fuel. From there the fast is very easy and you actually feel very energetic.

Whenever you feel like you’ve had enough or you’ve got to your goal weight you’d usually break the fast with something light like chicken and veggies or a fruit smoothie.

Like I said before…This is the most efficient way I’ve found to lose a lot of fat in a short amount of time. Before trying it, make sure you watch Cole Robinson’s videos on youtube. Specially “HOW TO START THE SNAKE DIET FOR DUMMIES”, and read “GETTING STARTED”.

Eating 600 calories a day

Although nothing beats fasting, cutting down your calories to 600 is the second fastest way to lose 1 pound a day.

Now this fat loss approach is way more flexible and gives you virtually the same results. The approach is very simple…You basically eat 600 calories of food every single day for the amount of time you need and the results are inevitable. In my personal experience, I’ve managed to lose 8.5 pounds in 10 days and felt great doing it.

Now that you know how it works, the question is…What food is best to eat to feel satiated and full the longest with mere 600 calories?

When I tried it, I found eating steak and veggies the most satiating out of all the foods out there. I felt full throughout the whole day and had enough energy to work and workout like usual. You see, when you cut down your calories this much you want to make sure you get your calories from the most nutritious foods out there. Foods like chicken, steak, eggs, broccoli will be your best friends. Stay away from things like fruits, bread, sugars, or any other “fake foods”.

A sample day would look like this:

  • Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs (180 calories)
  • Lunch: 1 portion of chicken or beef (330 calories)
  • Dinner: 1 boiled egg or broccoli (90 calories)
  • Total: 600 calories

Remember, this way of eating should only be used as a temporary solution for fat loss. Staying hydrated throughout the day is not only important but it helps you feel full as well.


There you go, now is up to you to decide which one fits best with your lifestyle and goals. Although I have tried both, I think Snake Juice fasting is your best bet if you want the fastest results possible and don’t care about working out. If you want to workout while you drop fat off your body then cutting down to 600 calories is your best bet. Both of these methods will help you lose a pound a day but with fasting you could easily lose 1.5 pounds a day. With that said, good luck and let us now your results!
